Welcome to the website of Lokální dráhy, z. s.
We are an association of railway history and rolling stock enthusiasts.
Our society brings together volunteers who, in their free time, help to preserve and restore railway vehicles and lines. Our main activities include documenting transport history, maintaining and operating historic rolling stock, and presenting it to the general public.
The association and its statutes are focused on supporting the restoration, operation, and maintenance of historic vehicles. All members participate in their free time.

Our Team
Alex Kačora
IT technicHe joined us last year at an event where we urgently needed some help. Over time, he began taking part in more activities. After gaining the necessary skills, Alex became a fireman (stoker), and thanks to his IT expertise, we decided to entrust him with managing our website.
David
Event Preparation SpecialistDavid joined us thanks to our members whom he met in Vracov, South Moravia. One thing led to another, and today he is undergoing training for the official fireman’s qualification. His enthusiasm for organizing naturally led him to become an event coordinator. He is currently preparing larger events that the association plans to organize in the future.
Jan
Rail Vehicle TechnicianJan, also known as Honza, joined us during one of our annual summer volunteer events on the Čiernohronská Railway. Over time, he developed a passion for steam engines and locomotives in general. He is currently a steam-traction fireman and occasionally observes the chairman at work to further expand his knowledge.
Matěj
chairmanFounding member and chairman of the association. One of the main initiators of the entire organization. Over time, he worked his way up from mechanic to fireman and finally to steam locomotive driver — so far only on the narrow-gauge railway in Čierny Balog. When he’s not busy with the necessary administrative duties of the association, you can meet him at various railway events.
Daniel
Vice-chairmanFounding member of the association Lokální dráhy, z. s. Together with Matěj, one of the founding members. A musical virtuoso with a keen sense for detail and for composing photos of railway equipment. Within the association, he became a fireman on steam locomotives and is now a strong candidate for the position of locomotive driver on a special railway in Slovakia.
